St. Moriz Advanced Pro Range- A new range but is it any better?

Sometimes an event will come along that will knock your socks off! An event I attended recently was the launch of the St Moriz Advanced Pro Range in The Dean Hotel in Dublin. I went along with my trusty tanning sidekick Anita from Adorn.ie and we check out the latest offering from the St. Moriz brand.

Have we all heard of St Moriz before? I'm sure we have! It's everywhere but always easily found in any Penneys here in Ireland. I have used the mist and the mousse so many times for tanning before a night out and while the retail products are good and always were, this new range is a 'higher spec' and will be available in Pharmacies in Ireland. I've added info from the recent press release to tell you more about the range then we'll look at my thoughts on them...

I am loving the new range, I honestly am...first off I want to talk about my favourite product is the Moisturising Tan Enhancer I am in love!!! Ok so we all know the rule about making a tan last is to use an oil-free moisturiser and this is the one I have been waiting for. It's lightweight, it's white and it soaks into the skin in no time. I love the scent it's soft and fresh so it already reminds me of the summer. I am almost finished the sample bottle I got, have it packed away for the wedding this weekend so I have to find a stockist ASAP.

The Velvet Finish Tanning Gel is next up for me, It's clear...It's scary using a clear gel liquid for tan but fear not, once applied on my legs it was beautiful when the colour came up. Again nothing dirty or muddy about the colour of the tan even though I have the shade dark, it's a beautiful healthy glow and I was thrilled with the result.

Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to try out the Insta-Grad Tanning Mousse as we didn't receive a sample of this on the night. I just received a bottle this week so I am really excited to give it a go. The mist is also on my list to try, I did add it to my legs one evening but there was already tan on them so I won't judge it when it wasn't applied properly. For me, I find a mist quite hard to use without rubbing it onto my skin using a mitt so I will be sure to keep you all informed on that one.

I think we were absolutely blessed at the event to walk away with all the new range but I think for me at the min the two products I deffo think you should buy are the tan enhancer moisturizer it's amazing and then the 5 in 1 tanning mousse. It comes out a beautiful beautiful colour, the wear off is lovely not patchy at all and with good moisturising it will last you days perfectly intact.

On the night I met the very talented Conor Merriman who very kindly offered to draw a mini me and I love her, he's so friendly and I just chatted away to the girlies while his pen worked its so brilliant I have the little me framed now at home.

Sunkissed Tan- Once a Week Medium Tried&Tested

So the summer is here although you wouldn't know by our weather outside at all but nevertheless there is no need to be pale if you don't want to be. Recently I was sent a new tan from Sunkissed which is called their Once a Week self tan. While I have tried this tan, I must be honest and say I have only had opportunity to use it once as I have a wedding this weekend I am booked in for a spray tan and I had one more tan to trial prior to the wedding, it's not easy when you're so pale but you want to be sure you are giving your skin the best chance or reviewing a tan fairly by prepping your skin exactly as it should be, no dry bits, no left over tan residue and no messing our doubling up on products.

In saying all that I did have perfectly pale skin when I applied this mousse so I can give honest feedback about my experience and if when I want to use it again and need to change my opinion, I will edit the post and note the changes.

Well firstly I can 100% confirm a few of the claims of this tan, yes it smells lovely, absolutely the mitt helps apply the tan evenly and it allows you to see where you are putting it with a slight guide colour. I did feel the tan dried quickly enough, I was tanning my legs and wore shorts for a little while. I also liked how the tan didn't come off much while I was asleep, I have this awful (and yes it is awful) tendency to overheat when I sleep so I'm always worried about losing so much tan to the dreaded sheets.

I opted for the colour medium to try out and it was a little light. When I say light I tend to base my tan on the idea that I am heading out for the night and for me the one layer of the medium once a week tan would deffo need a second in order to get the colour I like. However, in saying that, most days I am not looking for a tan to be that dark which is why I chose the medium shade. I am so pale that sometimes I find it I put a tan on which is dark it can just look dirty on my skin, I can't carry off really dark colours as there is absolutely no colour in my own skin to enhance. I a 100% a pale lady so I like to chose colours that can build up instead of going straight in with something that might not suit me at all.

The shade medium was lovely on my skin. It wasn't streaky or patchy (that's where good prep work comes in you have to be ready to put in the work in order for tan to look flawless)

For me if you are pale like myself and you want a golden glow then the medium is a perfect shade for you.

My only downfall with this tan and it's why I stated at the top I've only had a chance to use it the once I didn't allow it to last the full 7 days in order to really test it. I needed to get the tan off but I will say that it took two hot baths and lots of scrubbing on day 5 to get the tan off so certainly up to day 5 I still have colour on and it wasn't giving me dry patches or that awful snakeskin.

I was conscious not to use oil in my moisturiser while reviewing the tan, oil can loosen tan and you'll see it starting to come off. That's a really good fact for anyone who loves their fake tan to last be sure your moisturiser doesn't have oil in.

YOPE- Natural Soap Products

So sometimes as bloggers we are giving the opportunity to review things we may not always think to buy or review ourselves. This is exactly what's happened to me lately, a new brand to Ireland approached me for a review and I gratefully said yes I would help promote them as they venture into Ireland to try and generate some interest. The reason I did this is because it is a natural product and I have become very conscious of what I put on my skin in recent times.

The package arrived and it was a beautiful box wrapped up containing three big pump action bottles of soap and moisturiser. There is a and soap for the bathroom, a soap for the kitchen and a lotion. As myself and J are no longer in our own apartment I left the kitchen soap downstairs and added the bathroom soap to the upstairs bathroom.

Let's take a look at the info behind the brand:

"This story started with washing hands. Several times a day, dozens of times a week, hundreds of times a month. Have you ever wondered why your hands are clean after washing and sometimes a few moments later the skin on your hands becomes unpleasantly dry and tight? We have. You can blame poor quality of water (chlorine) or time of the year (cold, wind or heat). But most often this is the liquid sop to blame! How do we know that? Because we use it every day and we have collaborated with cosmetic and chemical companies for many years and we know what such products can contain. Liquid soap should be a simple cosmetic which consists mainly of vegetable washing, preserving and aroma substances. However, these days producers more and more often add artificial colourants, aromas, silicones, preservatives, detergents (e.g. SLS — Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) and foaming substances (e.g. SLES — Sodium Laureth Sulfate). Why? To make the soap look better, more durable, more aromatic as well as to improve its foamin propertie. Is it necessary? On the contrary, it is redundant. But good and nice soaps are sparse and more expensive. Pay for a basic washing cosmetic as much as for a face cream? This is ridiculous! We said No and decided to set up a company to prove that it is possible to produce liquid soaps and washing agents which are:

Additionally, verbena extract has antibacterial properties and keeps the skin soft. High vegetable glycerine content keeps the skin smooth, elastic and moisturised. The soap also contains vitamin B5 and allantoin which soothe irritations and accelerate skin regeneration.

What is not contained? Verbena liquid soap does not contain parabens, silicones, colorants, SLESs and SLSs.

As soap goes it's lovely, I am really liking the texture of the soaps are they are not gloopy and sticking to my hands, there's no real residue left on the skin and you don't feel like you have to wash your hands forever to make sure it's all off. I know that this post is a little out of the norm but I think this gift set would be a really good gift idea for someone who is really interested in the more natural products.

Basically the laws of life are simple, every company will claim that their new product is the best ever. I have bought items time and time again because of the marketing campaigns and that was well before I started reading blogs. One brand that so far I can hands up say has never let me down is Vichy.

Vichy is so common now it's literally in every decent pharmacy you walk into. Their effaclar range is a constant in my skincare routine and I have found that the training of staff who sell Vichy is second to none. I have been given loads of samples before I have bought from the different ranges which I think shows just how confident Vichy are that once you try them you'll want the full size product.

This foundation does what it says on the box. As you can see from my pale swatch the shade nude that I was sent is a little too dark for when I am pale but let's face it these days I am usually only pale 2 days a week and have a glow on from Friday to Monday/Tuesday each week. It's a battle of wits between me and my skin to get myself back to white to then add more tan but I'm going off track here.

The foundation really does work on blemishes. One thing I will say and it's totally personal to me, I don't use it everywhere on my face. I like to use it on my problem areas as an extra boost to my skin. Although I could totally wear the product on it's own I choose to use it like another concealer. I have a great habit at the minute that I'll use this foundation thinly on my face and then I'll add a mineral makeup powder over it for extra coverage.

I really like this product I can honestly say that. I have a Vichy dermablend stick foundation almost empty and this has been the saving grace to my bad skin when an important night out is on the way. I have seen loads of the other bloggers loving the dermablend foundation lately, it's just brilliant for coverage.

Vichy is widely available so shouldn't be hard in any part of Ireland to find a stockist. I also have found that trained Vichy staff are so helpful with samples to allow you to try their products. I have used so much vichy over the years I am currently finishing my pot of the Sleep Night Cream.

Waterford Health Park Pharmacy- A hotspot in Waterford City!

This post is a focus piece I have written on the wonderful Waterford Health Park Pharmacy at ‘the top of the town’ in Waterford City.

The pharmacy will be open 5 years this years and it is fast becoming a beauty haven in the city. We are truly blessed in Waterford to have so many retailers upping their game in the beauty stakes to make sure us Deise women can get our hands on all the latest must have and on trend products.

I met with manager Sandra last Saturday to discuss the piece and it was so easy for me to showcase the amazing brands they have in the pharmacy as I have so many myself so this post will be packed with links to reviews on products.

So in case you don’t know…Waterford Health Park Pharmacy is located right opposite from Walsh Park (the GAA ground in the city) It’s address is Slievekeale Road, Waterford. There is loads of parking on the grounds as it also hosts the medical centre and small café. It is open from Monday to Friday 8:30-6pm and Saturdays 10-2pm.

One other thing I must mention about Waterford Health Park Pharmacy before I go any further. For me personally the most important thing this pharmacy hosts is the treatment rooms for LuluBelleBeauty. You’d have to be totally new to my blog if you don’t know of my love for this place. Louise and her excellent team have been looking after me for over 3 years now. I have had my HD brows perfected by Louise, I’ve had tan, makeup, nails, massages, loads of treatments in the salon. While it might be small with two treatment rooms it is epic in its service. I could literally write a whole post on LuluBelle and have before so if you have any beauty needs whatsoever ALWAYS book in with the LuluBelleGirls!! Trust me you are in the safest hands possible (God I love that place) The range of brands used is second to none, Dermalogica for skincare, Waxperts for Wax, they have both Bellmianta Tan and Laurens Way two of my current faves and then when it comes to nails a massive amount of colours from Gelish and all the makeup and brushes used are products I’d happily use myself. Honestly do check them out, I travel from Dublin specifically to get my treatments there!

Back to the business that is the Pharmacy, as my first love with always be makeup I have decided to showcase some of the amazing Beauty products available right now in the pharmacy. These products are flying off the shelves and this piece is to highlight just how much you can get all in one pharmacy.

So let’s take a look around with some shots I took last weekend…

Lots and lots of amazing brands with heaps of products

As you can see there is so much makeup and skincare available in the pharmacy, it’s like a beauty bloggers heaven and only for my bank account is on serious lockdown with a Wedding at the end of this month and New York in August I could literally spend my wages with the amount of fab brands they have. Ok I get it that I’m blabbing but if you’re into makeup you’d agree there’s loads you want here.

My current faves from Waterford Health Park Pharmacy are:

Glam & Co Cosmetics Lashes in Aurora:
These lashes are everywhere!! Their creator Aoife is an absolute mastermind, they are so out there, so on trend and a love of some many beauty bloggers I just had to try them. If you watch me on Snapchat @emmajcs you'll have seen I found a second pair of the lashes in my lash drawer once I returned from Waterford. The ones I picked up on Saturday are in the style Aurora and I can't wait to try them. They retail at €12 and with good care they can be worn up to 25 times. I mean that is some serious bang for your buck. I am deffo going to try them out real soon so I will be sure to post on my instagram @masteringyourmakeup and all over my snapchat. I feel there'll be many selfies taken that day. I am thrilled Waterford Health Park got these in as it can be very hard to choose lashes online, sometimes you just need to see them and seeing is believing with the style Aurora they are HUGE!!!

AYU Makeup Brushes:
Anyone who has been following me on the blog will know I have a love for the AYU brushes. Suzie and her sister Laura are the creators of a wonderful makeup brush company which delivers great quality brushes at a low cost. They can be bought individually or in a set like this 'All About Eyes set' you can in WHPP. The liner brush is brilliant not just for liner but for brows also. I love the fluffy blender brush for buffing out colour it is so soft on the eye. The white pro blender is excellent for crease work which we all know is key to great eye makeup so if you are on the lookout for a new brush set then this one is for you. I always love to support Irish companies and I think this all about eyes set is a really good starter present to get someone who loves makeup.

SOSU Contour Palette:
This has probably been one of the most talked about products of 2016. I managed to get mine online just as it was released and Sandra in WHPP was telling me it is constantly walking off the shelves. I can see why, it is a cream & powder contour palette. At the start I was unsure would it just be a gimmick but I can across a YouTube video but a makeup artist Laura Broderick showcasing her first impression (you could literally see her open it) and use it for the first time and it looked beautiful on her skin as it really was a live performance. I then went out and bought it myself. The cream highlight is deffo my fave part of the whole palette and I am yet to truly master the contouring but I am really glad to own it and coupled with a beauty blender from the likes of W7 (available in WHPP) or the real techniques sponge this will take you to glam in seconds. It's available right now in the pharmacy.

Tomitago Cleaner:
Tomitago is a brand of skincare like nothing else I've tried. I recently reviewed two samples products which you can read about HERE. Sandra in the WHPP really wanted me to try the new cleanser from the brand. I had read about the cleanser before and thought it would make a really good addition to my pre cleanse routine. I am a really big precleanse fan. I like to remove as much of my makeup as possible before going in with my cleanser. Oil based cleansers are brilliant for this as they really help to break down your makeup. I have been using this cleanser since the weekend and I am really loving it so I want to give it it's own blog post when I have had more time to test in out on lots of makeup but it's an absolute treat for your face. It actually makes taking off a day's makeup a real treat, you wipe it away with a facecloth having let the warm cloth rest on your face, I mean you're only fit for bed after all the pampering. There is a beautiful display table full of the Tomitago products and some of the staff are trained in all the range so can really talk you through all you need to know to ensure you are getting the most out of the product. I really do love this brand and I hope it takes off all around Ireland.

Bellamianta Mousse Tan:

Everyone and their momma knows about Bellamianta tan these days. I am so thrilled to be trialling the new mousse formula from the brand. I have already reviewed the lotion and you can read all about that HERE. I loved the lotion there was no denying it and I have since used it week in week out so that the bottle is nearly gone. I am also booked in for my first Bellamianta spray tan in the Lash Lounge in Rathfarnham. If you haven't heard of Bellamianta, I'm not sure how but still...if you're new to tanning or would like to give one a go here are the facts about the tan:

• Dries in 60 Seconds
• Develops in 2-4+ hrs
• Golden Olive tone
• Ready to wear colour
• Streak free / Easy to use
• Transfer & Water resistant
• Even wear off

That was just a snapshot of some of the products available right now at the Waterford Health Park Pharmacy. As you can see from the pictures above the main makeup stands available are Essence, Catrice, Flormar, Cailyn and then we have W7 products and Flawless.

I could sit here all day and write about each individual product I own from the pharmacy but for me it’s a place you need to see to believe. The pharmacy prides itself on good customer service with many of the staff being trained in the brands they stock. This allows them to give you really sound advice so you know you are spending your money wisely.
