Hello Lovelies!
Today we are going to talk about a brand I cannot pronounce. Luckily for me as I write this you can read it how you like and maybe make up a name just like I do. So the brand is polish and it's called Paese some say Pies and I was thinking Pace but as far as I know Pies is the right way to pronounce Paese.
A great PR company have taken over the Paese account in Ireland and recently I was treated to two new products a foundation and a powder. Now before we go any further, Paese is not a new brand in my life, I have reviewed products of their before we were gifted to me and then at the last beauty show in March 2016, I brought my mum with me and we each purchased some of their products as I just really love the brand.
It used to be very hard to access in store but you could purchase online, now however, if you live in Waterford you have not one but two Paese stands in both Castle Pharmacy and Delany's Pharmacy . There are so many stockists coming on stream now all you have to do is check out their Facebook page linked above.
So what are the two products I want to talk to you about today? Well they are the Rice Powder and the Long Cover Fluid Foundation. The Long Cover Fluid Foundation retails at €16.49 and the Rice Powder at €15.
Long cover foundation:
For dry and normal skin. It comes in five shades and I was sent the shade 02 Natural
Ultra light and very comfortable consistency harmonizes skin colors perfectly and hides any skin imperfections, making it fresh and radiant throughout the day, without a need for any touch ups. Long Cover Fluid cares, moisturizes and soothes skin irritation with vitamins A, C and E, provitamin B5 and Karite butter. It leaves no traces on clothes.
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS
Shea butter – rich source of vitamins and essential fatty acids, lock in moisture, provide in-depth nutrition
Provitamin B5 – moisturizes and soothes skin irritations
Vitamin A, C and E – ensure skin nourishment and protection against UV
Contains filter SPF6
So are you can see from the description of the foundation really it shouldn't suit my skin. Trust me there is not dry about my face, I feel at times like I am a total grease bucket. Nonetheless, I have had no problems wearing this foundation once I set it. The shade 02 Natural is too dark for my pale skin but let's face it, it's extremely rare that I allow myself to be my total pale self for more than a day or two in the week while I wait to apply more tan. I find the shade really good for those in between days when your tan is fading but you're not quite ghostly again yet. The consistency is good, not too watery or thick, it comes out on a little spatula type stick so I just dot it around my face and blend out usually with a flat head kabuki brush. I don't use flat foundation brushes on my skin, I always use a buffer so I'm not sure what a flat brush would be like to work with.
The staying power of the foundation is very good, it doesn't slide off my face even though technically it's not meant to suit my face. I think for a drier faced person it would be really hydrating on the skin. You can also layer the foundation if you want more coverage but I really feel one layer is quite enough for daytime wear.
Paese Rice Powder:
Rice Powder is one of the oldest secrets of make-up artists. Irreplaceable product adored by professionals, used for photo shoots and fashion shows. The Rice Powder....it's not the Bamboo powder. Just throwing it out there.. my ultimate favourite product from Paese so far is the Bamboo Silk Powder. It really does feel like silk on the skin so I made my mum get it at the beaut show but...we are not here to talk about that today, you can read my thoughts on that by searching Paese within my blog.
The Rice Powder is a wonderful product. I didn't know what to expect from it when I first tried it but I really like it. I do feel it gives my face a matte look which is always what I am looking for, nothing dewy for me thank you that's what powder highlight is for! Once the powder is placed on the skin it becomes transparent so you're not left with a chalky feel on the face at all.
This powder is a really good addition to my collection. I find that if you're oily like me you always worry about what powder will suit your skin. As much as I love the bamboo silk powder for it's feel alone, I have to say on a practical level the rice powder really does the job it's meant to. The size of the product for the price is also really good value, it's a big tub and you don't use a lot per application at all.
Paese Cosmetics is a great brand and one I love using, I am thrilled they are becoming more available as I think they are extremely high quality for high street prices. If you've tried pieces from Paese I'd love to hear your thoughts?
