Artistry Makeup- Eyeshadow Palette & Lipsticks

Happy Thursday All!!

I mentioned in my previous tried & tested blog post that a new website has come into my life called Amway. The first product that I received to review from the Artistry range was the eye shadow palette in ‘Little Black Dress’.

Here is a little blurb from the fab Sophie in RDC:

“Artistry’ has launched the make-up lovers' must have for spring/summer 2015 - Little Black Dress, an 8-strong eye palette of high fashion plum, berries, lilacs, greys and charcoal shades. Inspired by the wearability of a little black dress, the compact features a collection of beautiful bolts of colour that can be picked up anytime to add day time polish or night time party.  Little Black Dress features highly pigmented matt and iridescent formulations to give crease-free, all-day performance and is encased in a sleek compact.

This custom designed limited edition black patent compact includes eight wearable shades including:
·         Pearl – Translucent, lustrous, glimmering white (shimmer)
·         Candlelight – Medium dusty mauve (shimmer)
·         Evening Out – Medium hazy steel grey (shimmer)
·         Midnight – Medium satiny berry (luster)
·         Little Black Dress – Deep classic black with sparkle (shimmer)
·         Glamour – Deep dramatic plum (matte)
·         Stiletto – Light pewter with metallic shimmer (luster)
·         Sequin – Pale pearly pink (shimmer)”

My first impressions of the colours were not overwhelming. As much as I love makeup & colour, I am still quite scared of very drastic looks, I love when someone else does them for me but I don't feel I have enough confidence yet to tackle such colours. The palette was beautiful, there’s no doubt about that but I felt when I created the look on myself, it might be better suited to someone else’s skill level as I struggled a bit with my blending. I also think that the actual colours are not something I am naturally drawn to so I gave my palette to Elaine from Ruby Laine who will excel at any look she creates with this bad boy. The palette can be bought from www.amway.ie

The second product I have tried from Artistry are two lipsticks. Again here is a little info from Naomi in RDC:

“Scarlet red lips or a dark plum shade is one bold step in the right direction to a lustful look. ARTISTRY Signature Colour Lipstick in Daring Red and Velvet Classic are ideal hues, both glide on elegantly to make lips look beautiful and feel luxuriously soft and smooth, conditioned and hydrated. The formula contains signature colour pigments, designed to provide the perfect amount of colour and coverage. These retail @ €25.10.

Now these were very much up my street and the first point that was to be spoken about is how you open them. So when you look at the packaging, it looks like any other normal lipstick but these have to be opened differently. You twist the middle of the lipstick and out pops the bullet from the end. I loved this, see I am someone that this alone would make me want to buy it. I also loved the black and gold colours on the packaging, again this looked beautiful and I have been showing off the lipsticks any day I have them in my handbag.

If you are someone who loves a matte full colour lipsticks I don't think these are for you. But personally, a matte full on lippy is great for an event or a night out but sometimes I find eating and drinking really hard with them on. These Artistry lipsticks have a beautiful feel to them when they are on your lips, you have good colour without being extreme and I like the sheen you get from them. I think these lipsticks have been a change for me but a change for the positive. I like now to have different types of lipsticks in my collection so these two babies have been a welcomed addition. They are a little on the high level of price point but again, have a look at the pic of my lips and if this is something you’d like to try, the red is deffo my fave!

Here is a little peek of the 1st look I created on myself using the palette and the lipppies, please excuse my messy head!

Hope you enjoyed my review, have you tried anything from Artistry or heard of them before?
