Hello Lovelies,
Welcome back to Mastering Your Makeup in 2018!
The end of 2017 was really upset by a severe chest infection. Not only did the blog suffer but I couldn't even make it to work for the whole of the last school week so I missed all the kids Christmas shows and everything I was in crap form to say the least.
I also had to miss my peel number 3 but we will come back to that...for this post I just wanted to do a little check in with regards my Dermalogica BioSurface peel number 2 in Elaine's Beauty. If you missed the first post on this treatment you can catch up on it HERE.
Basically after peel number 1 my skin felt great, I could see a brightness to it and also felt really really clean. In the last post you'll see I was extremely careful with my aftercare making sure to follow the directions given to my by Elaine. Once my skin routine was back to normal, I didn't see a decrease in the results at all. I was really looking forward to my next peel to see how my skin would react this time and also what results we could achieve.
I booked into Elaine 12 days after my first peel so my skin was still in the optimum time frame to see increased results. I arrived at Elaine's got all tucked up in the bed and Elaine began the same procedure as last time but this time we were able to go one layer longer as I had no tingly on my chin like the first peel. My skin was cleared of that breakout and I really enjoyed the skin smoothing botanicals at the end again (it really does feel like bubbles popping on your face)
Another thing I noted from my second peel was of course my own feelings, I 100% knew what to expect, I wasn't at all nervous. Elaine and I again spoke through the entire peel (it's really important to note that this isn't a pampering appointment, your therapist must keep asking you how you feel, any sensation on the face, to make sure that your not having a reaction) As mentioned before also, this is not a heat facial, you never feel cold but the layering of the peels are active on your face so some people will generate their own heat.
I was really delighted with the results of peel number two, here are some pics...
Of course for me as I look at my own face all the time, I will be the first to see the results. I was thrilled again the days once my aftercare was completed to start feeling more confident about going 'bare faced'. It's really unfortunate that we didn't get to have peel number 3 in the same window to really maximise the results. However, as I was so unwell I couldn't possibly have had the treatment. Elaine was explaining to me, not only with my own concerns of the coughing and feeling miserable but your skin is so affected when you are sick that she couldn't possibly do the peel on my face until I was feeling well but also back in a solid routine of exfoliation and masks to boost my skin after being so ill.
I have been using my skin hydrating masque, my skin hydrating booster and my multi-active toner loads lately to really get my skin back in good condition.
I am hoping to book into Elaine real soon to have my third and final peel for now and will of course b back to you all soon on my results.
