Happy Monday Everyone!!
No I did not make this but it's cute on a Monday
(you can just hear the high pitched tone and wavy hand when
I do that can't you?) It’s funny, it really is a blogger/vlogger thing to say
hello to everyone in the same tone and way but I guess if I was to do the
Waterford thing of saying ‘Well Girl’ it just wouldn’t be the same! That’s
totally off course of what I'm here to talk about today but I have just spent the last while watching snapchat and youtube so I’m in the blogger mind frame
at the min.
Today on the blog I am very proud and excited to talk to you
about a recent masterclass I attended. Some of you may know her already but
today I am here to talk about Anita Coote from Adron.ie. I will link in all Anita’s social media
accounts below. Anita and I met ages ago but in recent months have formed a
solid friendship and now attend events together on a regular basis. I really
like Anita (and not that I have to say this) but she’s not only super down to
earth and easy to get on with, but she really knows her stuff, she is not only
a beauty lover but also an educator in the industry teaching makeup and nails
in the Dublin College of Hairdressing.
Nothing like me looking weird in a shot before the class started, wrapped up with my headcold
Anita has hosting her very first makeup and hair masterclass
with fellow teacher Louise. The Dublin College of Hairdressing is located on
the Ballyfermot Road and was held on a Sunday from 11-3pm. It was a lovely set
up, we were a small group under 12 (which I much prefer as you can ask more questions
and everyone was then able to get their own workstation to practice on
themselves) Anita went first and worked
on her lovely model Jade.
Two totally different looks but really achievable for everyone
For the masterclass, Anita created two different eye looks
on Jade for us to see the use of different products, different techniques and
with each step Anita explained what product to use, what brush to use and how
to use them correctly on yourself or on someone else. I have attended loads of
masterclasses now and I always find new tips and tricks, not to mention a shopping list of new products 'I need'. It’s my absolute
favourite aspect of my blog. If my full time job was to attend classes, courses
or demos on makeup, I still don't feel I would ever know it all. You have to
learn what technique works for you, how you hold your own brushes and what
products suit your skin the best.
As with all classes and courses I attend, I am not going to give
everything away as I'd like you to support Anita and attend her next one but
here is what I loved from the masterclass….
- · The room had great viewpoints of what Anita was doing on Jade. Jade sat up on a high stool while we were lower down so we could see all Anita’s hand movements and she stood to the side of Jade so you didn't miss a thing.
- · Not only were there treats and refreshments on the day but we were also treated to fantastic goody bags, jam packed of fantastic brands Wet&Wild Physicians Formula. We munched on haribos, malteasers & mini muffins, sipped on tea/coffee & water and had loads of chats.
- · The atmosphere was extremely relaxed. People felt (from what I could see) very comfortable asking questions about the way they do their own makeup & hair to asking for products that would suit them. No question was silly and the group had load of input into the conversations. I really liked this as I hate when it’s very much a school, teacher relationship and there’s no real chat or opinion.
- · Hair & Makeup: So this masterclass was a double lesson, firstly you got to see how to create two different eye looks and a full complexion look. Then after that demo was over we all took a little tea and muffin break while our work stations were set up (you know your own seat and a table with a huge mirror on top) and then Louise showed how to curl hair on Jade and individually people then got to try out looks on themselves with help from Louise and Anita was then available to talk to people individually while they worked on their own faces. I have to say this was the one aspect of the masterclass I was most thrilled with. I like masterclasses, I like lessons but I love when a class or lesson is about you working on yourself. Not everyone who attends masterclasses has the intention of working on other people, you want to know how to make yourself look your best and they are my favourite classes. They are the exact reason I started my blog so Anita and Louise planned the perfect day in my opinion.
- · I think the timing of 4 hours was very well thought out, you didn’t feel the hours passing at all and I was actually sad when it was time to go home.
I want to say a huge thank you to Anita for inviting me
along to her 1st masterclass and I really wish her huge success with
her next one. The tickets cost €60 and you will really enjoy learning all the
new tips and tricks from experts such as Anita and Louise. Hairdressing is always something I have loved and once did a short term course in a college in Waterford and I would love to study it more in time.
Anita as of last night has also moved into the world of
Youtube so I am linking her first video right HERE for you to check out. It’s a
favourites video and I think it’s amazing so well done to her.
If you have any questions, comments or queries on the
masterclass then please get in touch with either myself or Anita. Happy Monday
all :)
